Simone Biles

Simone Biles, American gymnast (born 14 March 1997 Columbus Ohio U.S.) is considered to be one of sport's best athletes. Biles was the first female gymnast from America ever to win four gold medals at the same Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first female to ever win successive World All-Around championships. Biles grew up in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her sister Adria were adopted by their grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone began to take an interest in gymnastics when she was just six when she took a field trip for day care at Bannon's Gymnastix and remained there for 11 years under the direction of her coach Aimee Boorman. Biles was a winner in the vault and floor exercises at the 2009 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the elite competition level in the year 2011. Less than two years later she dominated the sport. Biles stood out by her consistent performance, her enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of effort she introduced in each event--vault, uneven bars the balance beam, and the ground exercises.
